Company is an experienced AGM / Manager – Power Trading with 8–10 years of proven expertise in power trading within utilities, Open Access & C&I (Commercial and Industrial) consumers, short-term power sales, power market operations, and price analysis. The role involves developing and executing effective power trading strategies, managing power portfolios, and driving margin optimization while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities :

The role involves developing and implementing effective power trading strategies to maximize revenue while minimizing market and operational risks. The incumbent will manage power trading portfolios with a strong focus on margin optimization and risk management, while continuously analyzing market trends to design short-term power sales strategies aligned with business objectives. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall business goals and trading priorities. The candidate will remain up to date with regulatory developments and ensure full compliance with CERC (Central Electricity Regulatory Commission), SERC (State Electricity Regulatory Commissions), and power exchange regulations. Additionally, the role includes developing and executing competitive bidding strategies to optimize power sales and maximize revenue, owning and managing the profit and loss (P&L) for power trading activities, and driving margin enhancement through disciplined risk management and in-depth market analysis.

JOB DETAILS :

–  Develop and implement power trading strategies to maximize revenue, minimize risk and optimize margins, risk across Open Access, C&I, and utility portfolios.  Manage power portfolios to ensure optimal margin optimization and risk management.  Analyze market trends and develop short-term power sales strategies to meet business objectives.  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.  Liaise with Utilities and regulatory changes and ensure compliance with CERC (Central Electricity Regulatory Commission), SERC (State Electricity Regulatory Commissions), and exchange rules.  Develop and implement bidding strategies to optimize power sales and maximize revenue.  Own and manage profit and loss (P&L) for power trading activities.  Optimize margins through effective risk management and market analysis.  Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Risk, Legal, Finance) for seamless strategy execution and reporting. Required Qualification and Skills-  Graduation or Post graduation from engineering or MBA.  8-10 years of experience in power trading, with a strong background in short-term power sales, long-term Power Purchase Agreements, Power Trading, Procurement & Scheduling, power market operations across multiple states and price analysis.  Hands-On experience of various trading tools & Platforms.  Should have handled portfolios with Open Access C&I consumers & utilities.  In-depth knowledge of CERC, SERC, and exchange rules  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex market data and develop effective trading strategies  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams  Strong understanding of power trading strategies and portfolio management  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
