Key Responsibilities

• Backend Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services for our SaaS platform.
• API Development: Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs to power frontend applications and third-party integrations.
• Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas, write complex queries, and ensure efficient data storage and retrieval using MySQL.
• Code Quality: Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following industry best practices and PSR standards.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, implement caching strategies, and optimize application response times.
• Security: Implement robust security measures, including data encryption, authentication, and authorization protocols.
• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, conducting code reviews and promoting best practices.
• Deployment: Participate in the deployment and monitoring of applications in production environments.

Required Technical Skills

• PHP: Expert-level proficiency in PHP (version 7.x/8.x) with a deep understanding of OOP, design patterns, and modern PHP practices.
• Laravel: Extensive hands-on experience with the Laravel framework (versions 8.x/9.x/10.x), including Eloquent ORM, Blade, Queues, Events, and Artisan Console.
• MySQL: Strong experience with MySQL database design, optimization, indexing, and writing complex queries.
• API Development: Proven experience building RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party services.
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows (GitFlow, GitHub/GitLab).
• Testing: Experience with PHPUnit or other testing frameworks for writing unit and feature tests.
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
• Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and containerized development environments is a bonus.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, with at least 3+ years specializing in Laravel.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Industry: Prior experience in the Software/SaaS industry is highly preferred.
