Job Summary

Company is looking for an experienced SAP SD Consultant with 10–15 years of professional experience to support a remote retail client. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD), particularly within the retail domain and SAP IS-Retail environment.

The role requires hands-on experience across the complete SAP SD lifecycle, including full-cycle implementation, production support, Application Management Services (AMS), troubleshooting, configuration, integration and high-priority incident management.

The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, investigate system issues, implement appropriate solutions and ensure the stability of SAP-enabled retail and sales processes.

Experience with 3PL operations, e-commerce integrations, SAP pricing configuration, BOM, EWM integration, warehouse management and SAP PI/PO or SAP CPI is particularly important for this position.

Key Responsibilities

SAP SD & Retail Process Management

  • Manage and support SAP SD processes across the retail business environment.
  • Work extensively with SAP SD and IS-Retail functionalities.
  • Understand and support retail-specific sales and distribution processes.
  • Analyse business requirements and translate them into appropriate SAP solutions.
  • Participate in SAP implementation, enhancement and support activities.
  • Provide functional expertise throughout the complete SAP SD lifecycle.

Full-Cycle Implementation

  • Participate in or lead SAP SD activities throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Analyse requirements and prepare appropriate functional solutions.
  • Support configuration, testing, deployment and post-go-live activities.
  • Work with business users and technical teams to ensure successful implementation.
  • Support issue resolution during implementation and stabilization phases.

Application Management Services (AMS)

  • Provide ongoing SAP SD application support in an AMS environment.
  • Investigate incidents, service requests and application-related issues.
  • Analyse recurring problems and identify appropriate corrective actions.
  • Support business-critical SAP applications and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Coordinate with technical teams when problems require development or integration support.

3PL & Warehouse Processes

  • Work with Third-Party Logistics (3PL) processes and integrations.
  • Support business processes involving external logistics and warehouse partners.
  • Understand the relationship between sales, distribution, logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Work on integration points between SAP SD and warehouse management processes.

SAP Pricing

  • Configure and support SAP pricing processes.
  • Analyse pricing-related issues and determine appropriate configuration solutions.
  • Support pricing conditions and related sales processes.
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies involving pricing and sales transactions.

E-Commerce Integration

  • Support integration between SAP and e-commerce websites/platforms.
  • Analyse issues occurring between online sales platforms and SAP systems.
  • Work with integration teams to troubleshoot data flow and transaction issues.
  • Help ensure reliable exchange of sales and related business information between SAP and e-commerce platforms.

SAP PI/PO & CPI Integration

  • Work with integration solutions involving SAP PI/PO or SAP CPI.
  • Collaborate with integration and technical teams to investigate interface issues.
  • Understand SAP-to-external-system integration requirements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting interface failures and data synchronization issues.

BOM & Related Processes

  • Work with Bill of Materials (BOM)-related business processes.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot issues involving BOM and related sales processes.
  • Ensure appropriate integration of BOM-related information within relevant SAP processes.

EWM Integration

  • Support integration between SAP SD and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
  • Understand warehouse management processes and their relationship with sales and distribution.
  • Investigate issues involving sales orders, deliveries and warehouse-related processes.
  • Coordinate with EWM and technical teams for integration-related troubleshooting.

Incident & Problem Resolution

  • Act as a key client liaison for SAP SD troubleshooting.
  • Investigate software problems and perform detailed root-cause analysis.
  • Analyse functional and integration issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Resolve production issues while minimizing business disruption.
  • Communicate technical issues and resolutions clearly to business stakeholders.

High-Priority Issues & Emergency Transports

  • Handle high-priority production issues and emergency changes.
  • Coordinate emergency transports when required for critical business issues.
  • Work with relevant technical teams to ensure controlled deployment of urgent fixes.
  • Support incident resolution while following appropriate change-management processes.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • 10–15 years of professional SAP experience.
  • Strong experience in SAP SD.
  • Strong understanding of SAP IS-Retail / retail processes.
  • Experience working with retail domain clients.
  • Experience with full-cycle SAP implementation and support.
  • Strong experience in 3PL processes.
  • Experience supporting AMS / Application Management Services environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP Pricing configuration.
  • Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Experience with e-commerce integration.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP PI/PO or SAP CPI integration.
  • Experience with EWM integration and warehouse management processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work directly with clients and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage critical and high-priority production issues.
